We pride ourselves on being able to support the demanding 24x7 hours of many of our clients. Follow the options below to find the fastest answer to your question or need. 
 
 

Embedded Support Link

Click on the help (?) icon located on the tool bar or home page in the SpecVet application.  A new ticket window will be opened. Please include a valid email address so that we can directly respond to your questions.
This is our preferred method for routine SpecVet support. A support ticket will be automatically created for you, as well as capture key data such as clinic name and current layout.

We will respond to your email promptly and you should be able to follow the thread based upon the unique ID your case is given.

SpecVet telephone support is available between the hours of 8am - 6 pm (CST). Call SpecVet at (877) 499-7732 and follow the prompts.

NOTE: This level of support is intended for significant failures or issues. SpecVet BI: Business Intelligence. Powerful reporting at your fingertips. 

SpecVet BI: Business Intelligence module provides the powerful reporting you need to make smart business decisions. This easily add-on to your SpecVet installation gives you the ability to create custom dashboard views and graphs and easily share your reports with your management team, staff and doctors. Don't spend the time generating the reports you need; spend your time analyzing the data to improve and understand your practice.

Order Labels
SpecVet utilizes three different types of label media: 
  1. The Utility or Visit Labels - Mailing label along with the 2 small labels.
  2. Custom Printed Prescription Labels
  3. Pet Collar Media
We have partnered with Nev's Ink to produce and supply our clients with these quality products.

Technical Specifications

Number of Users: Unlimited.

SpecVet can support an unlimited number of workstations and users.  SpecVet was designed with the multi-location business model in mind. 

 

Laser/Sheet Printers:

SpecVet uses the print drivers on the computer’s operating system.  We do not require special printers or print drivers.  Generally, we recommend network printers. 
 

Label Printers:

We require use of high-quality Zebra label printers that are networked to your LAN.  We do not support Dymo or other USB based label printers. 
For our all of our standard label printing we use the GK-Series (or similar) label printers
For collar ID labels we use: Zebra ZD410 printer
 

Fax/Email Server: 

SpecVet utilized a cloud-based email/fax server.  We will set up an account on your behalf.  The cost of this service varies based on your fax volume, but for mid-sized hospitals it will typically cost $2000 per year.  The benefits are: 
  • No additional hardware for you to purchase or support 
  • No additional phone lines or phone charges 
  • The overall cost of ownership and use of this cloud-based solution is lower than any in house solutions 
This service is not designed to be used for incoming faxes or emails, you will need other standard solutions. 
 

Scanners:

For our DMS (document management solution) we only support specific Canon Networked Scanners. Presently the imageFORMULA ScanFront 400 Networked Document Scanner is the shipping model. The benefits of this scanner are: 
  • Networkable - can be located in one or many locations and does not tie up the use of a computer 
  • Double sided scanning - with a single pass (no mechanical  duplexing) both sided of a document can be read 
  • Feed Detection - can detect and report errors in paper feeding to ensure all documents are scanned and archived correctly 
 

Workstation/Server Computer Requirements

SpecVet can be run on the Macintosh, Windows & iOS platforms. Most of your clinic’s computers should be able to be utilized for SpecVet. Specific Technical Specifications for Workstations and Servers can be found in the link below.
 
 

Purchasing Hardware

 It is highly recommended that prior to any hardware purchases you coordinate these purchases with  SpecVet technical support to avoid any potential incompatibilities or issues. We will assist you in the purchasing of the appropriate hardware.
